Six Flags Regional Event

As school starts up, CTeeners from all over the Tri-state area gathered together at Six Flags to start off the year with a day full of thrills. While the weather was gloomy, the loud voices of the cheering teens made the atmosphere as bright and lively as ever! Each chapter had an impressive turnout, and the entire park was filled with Jewish pride! I saw some memorable things, including my rabbi taking on the Nitro roller coaster and my chapter spending two thousand arcade tickets on Skittles.

It was exciting being able to see all of my friends from the surrounding chapters whom I haven’t seen in a while. There’s nothing like seeing friends reuniting, tears of joy being shed, and rabbis laughing as they stand side by side. I also saw underclassmen who have never attended a CTeen event warm up  around their new acquaintances and soon to be friends. After the rides, we all went to a picnic to enjoy some kosher pizza. It made me proud to see many teens putting on tefillin, and some even putting it on for the first time. I’m so glad that even in our turbulent world, I can express my Jewish pride in a public place without worry, and I’m looking forward to a great year!
