This Shabbat we read the Parshat Masei. This portion provides us with a detailed analysis of the 42 encampments, and journeys of the Israelites. It describes the journey from their exodus to their encampment on the plains of Moab, and finally across the river from the land of Canaan.

In addition, in this Parsha the boundaries of Israel are given. The cities of refuge are assigned, and provided as places of refuge and a safe haven. On the other hand, the places of exile for inadvertent murderers are also designated.

The daughters of Tzelafchad (remember them from Parsha Pinchas way way long ago like 2 weeks long ago) well they marry within their own tribe Manasseh. The women do this in order to keep their father’s estate they argued to Moshe for within their tribe.
