Risa Mond, Plano, Texas:

What’s one thing people may not know about you?

My motto is: Go big or go home. I put 100% effort into everything I do.

Jared Zimmer, Dix Hills, NY:

What scares you the most about the future?

What scares me most about my future is change. I love the place I am in right now, but change is necessary for us to grow as humans.

Jared Zimmer

Malka Kopolovich, Brooklyn, NY

What are you most looking forward to about graduating from high school?

I’m going to Israel next year, so I am really excited about the idea of growing and finding myself away from the people that affect my life the most. I feel that the person I am when I am away from my original environment is the person I truly am.

Gabrielle Sharbin, Fairfield, CT:

If you could pick one thing to change the world, what would it be and why?

I would rid the world of the expression, “my way or the highway”. In our society, the mindset that the only right answer is one’s own, is increasingly prevalent. I’m a firm believer in understanding the “other side’s” point of view, and through this reaching benevolent agreements which benefit both parties. We alienate and isolate ourselves, to the point in which nothing can ever get done. This idea of a middle ground has no restrictions, it can benefit a polarized American congress, a marriage. a pretentious ideology. To make a change however, we must first work on improving ourselves and once we do, then we can focus on teaching who will decide our future; the youth. As the Rebbe said, “Every boy and girl is a seed and a sapling, which with the passing of time will bring forth fruit. And their fruit will produce more fruit, and so on for generations.” This fruit will decide the course of world’s future, so let’s teach them while they’re young, to be humble, and understanding.
