After having a delicious meal with our families, it’s time to thank G-d for all the food we just ate with bentching. Following bentching, we then have the third cup of wine. Next, we fill up the prophet Elijah’s cup and welcome him by opening the doors. This is a time for us to ask and request anything we want or need; personally, I like to take the time and thank G-d for being able to spend Pesach with my whole family and that even though we all live far away from each other, we always manage to come together. This is a special time because G-d is there listening to us. Even though this is one of the last steps of the seder, we should take this time to take it all in.
